While attending a dinner party, a couple I knew asked me if I could create a website for their guests to visit that would display their relationship, the upcoming wedding event details, and collect RSVPs for the guests of the event. The website was built as a pro bono for our good friend; cheers to the Streets, what a fun wedding!!
Launch was fairly smooth, one issue was that some users had thrown away or misplaced the letter the invite came in for them to know exactly how to enter their name on the site. Some guests were labeled "Doe Family" or "The Doe Family", so some didn't know if they should input their individual first and last names, or the full family name, which is understandably confusing. A better approach would have been to clearly label a group # on the invite with a small note to use to RSVP. The user could then be identified by their group number OR by their name.
