In high school, I was a part of an after-school program with the "web team" which was usually just 2-3 students who were in charge of maintaining the school website until they graduated. While being a part of this extracurricular activity, I was connected to the ORHS Community Foundation. They were a non-profit with a goal of finding funding for school projects like new fields, lockers, benches, etc around the school for the students. This was my earliest experience learning how to be a professional web developer for non-technical business leaders who want a presence on the web. Me and one other developer, Ido Kinel, worked together to build a simple site on Dreamweaver with HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, and Flash. We learned how Apache servers host static websites, and how to create animations with Flash. This was an amazing early experience for me that showed me the power of using web technologies to inform the world about your mission.
